Liverpool at homePredictions?
We go out 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 thriller that shakes south Leeds to its foundations.

I feel a bit ambivalent towards it really. Would gladly swap 3 points at MKD on Saturday to a win over the 'pool. If it was Scum, Peterborough or Ipswich it would be different, of course.

I'd love us to draw Ipswich in the cup at the moment - imagine Roy Keane spontaneously combusting after 90 minutes of abuse and a working over by Simon Grayson's Invincibles

Early team speculation
Leeds could again be without Portuguese centre-back Rui Marques, who has missed his side's last three games because of a hamstring injury.
Club captain Richard Naylor made his comeback for the reserves last week but is unlikely to start against the Reds.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will rotate his squad with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres set to be rested.
Daniel Agger (back) could make his first appearance of the season while Fabio Aurelio is also in line to start.

Possibly the best result in a strange way.
No extra time to knacker us for MKD and some lasting moral indignation for being robbed for our goal.

Kisnorbo played very well. Very solid.
I hope those who went aren't too disheartened - we looked (and sounded) pretty flippin' ace from three thousand miles away.

Absolutely perfect.
We were the better side, had the better chances, the ref must have seen Macherwhatever elbow our player - he was looking straight at it. Perfectly good goal disallowed. Typical Prem bullshit.
Snods embarrassed them 3 at a time and we're out of the Bejam cup or whatever the fuck it's called, perfect. Now on to what matters
PS Howson was huge and Kisnorbo was even bigger.
3 whole pints of beer and me, Mrs Mick and the top two boys had a good night out.
The whole team can hold their heads up high.

A great game, we played them off the park at times. I think Carragher said that was the hardest game they've played so far.
Excellent displays all around. Moral victory to us, the crowd noise sounded great.

Got turned for the goal though. Me and Ghost were discussing this, he struggles against clever, quick players.
He did play well for the rest of the game, as well as winning stuff in the air he made some great challenges and blocks.

At least from the TV bits I saw, Ngog was well placed to react to the miss-hit shot and (probably fortuitously) put just the right amount of touch onto the ball to bring it to a perfect position to make his final strike. Which was very classy.
I don't think too many central defenders could've done much about that finish.
Still thoroughly impressed - I can only see positive vibes coming from this game.

I can see alot of teams keeping a close on on Snodgrass. The commentators on the radio were well impressed with him.
Even to the point of saying that 'he would fit in well at most Prem clubs.'

Yeh, you could be right, I'd have to have another look.
When I saw he was playing I expected him get turned or done at close quarters, so maybe I saw what I expected.
sb, totally agree, Snods played with them at times. Skinned 2 and 3 at once, I wouldn't be surprised if some came sniffing. He's just signed a new contract though so fingers crossed.

by the way, watched this on the telly. Immensely proud of the team, manager and fans. Liverpool were crap and Dagan and Mascherano were filth., as was that cheat of a linesman
Beckford choked on the big occasion again. Snodgrass did a good impersonation of Lionel Messi

Mascherano won't face any punishment from the FL. Ref said he would not have done anything differently even if he had seen it from 6 yards away.

I think a lot of people want us back, if maybe for the wrong reasons. I'm sure as an away fixture its up there for all the top teams as a high point of the season. There's something about the acoustics and the way the sound of the crowd reverberates off the concrete that must excite most players.

Yes - that was heard.
I was sitting right next to the Liverpool fans in the SW corner so had to suffer all their annoying songs. All delivered in that heavily affected accent . You know the one.. the rolling phlegmy hard "k" noise they make.
And the whiney extended vowels... as in "Steeevie Gerraaaard."
God I wish we'd scored just to shut their pious mouths up.
Put me right off the Beatles that game has.

The Prem is certainly less exciting without us and I'm sure we're missed.
