I tink, but don't quote me but when they were planning Vale Park it was going to be a big feck off stadium rivalling Wembley in capacity.
Obviously that didn't come to fruition. _________________ "If you give Leeds the ball, they will make you dance." - Johan Cruyff.

'Work on the ground started in 1944, on the site of a former clay pit. The development became known as The Wembley of the North due to the planned size of the stadium. The ground opened in 1950. The first match was a 1-0 victory over Newport Country on 24 August 1950 in front of 30,042 spectators'
Ground record is 49,000 plus. _________________ True Yorkshireman |

We used to go and watch Vale now and again, but used to sit on a wall outside which gave great views of the pitch,
Once got asked by a copper as we neared our car after being moved off said wall which side we supported, he did not understand the concept of supporting neither team.
We used to pick a local match now and again if Wolves were away and just pitch up and watch it, but this copper was obviously a bit thick, even after our explanation. Eventually his 'superior' let us go... _________________ "If you give Leeds the ball, they will make you dance." - Johan Cruyff.
