Was there at the weekend and had a real great time there. My mate lives in the Easton part of the city and it has loads going on there. Some very alternative type people living around there so it has a really niced relaxed atmosphere, something that i could get very used to. Loved it and have plans to go back as soon as i can.
Any one else been there ?

I stayed down there in a dodgy b&b in a place called fishponds . The city was great boozed in a complex called the waterfront very good, people seemed friendly seemed to like northerners infact got an interesting proposition from a young lady in the taxi queue which I had to turn down as it was early days with my girlfriend who is now Mrs Foo. We stayed down to go to the rugby final in Cardiff so its a good alternative if you ever have to go to the millennium stadium for owt

I used to visit Bristol fairly regularly with work a few years ago. Usually stayed at the PTI on Broadmead. I remember the inner ring road was having major works and was causing all sorts of grief at the time - hope they've finished tarmacing it!

The old city part seemed nice and dined in that area Alan Partridge style with my own plate and a paperback for company on many occassions. Th boho trendy bit has always been regarded as Clifton but haven't ventured up that way.

Gloucester Road had some good boozers and was 'student central' with loads of take-aways, curry houses etc...looked lively.

Seemed on the whole a good place to live and work.

Only been there once. Went climbing up a gorge type thing with and old friend. Pretty scarey for me, but I was roped onto him, and he was good at climbing.

My mates son went to uni there and my mate spoke very highly of the social scene on the few occasions he went down there

If you like pissed up rugby wannabes and rugger huggers you'll have a ball. Otherwise..........unless you are into the dance scene forget it. Very, very violent city. I stayed down time before we played them last as have a pal there. No rush to go back, the waterfront is a meat market patrolled by pissed up oiks in cheap shirts looking for a fight. Dock would like it.
