Had the day off Wednesday and went with a friend and our bikes for a blast round the Forest of Dean.
Stopped on route to see this. Just to see whether it lived up to all the hype there's been recently or whether it was aptly named.
The photo's pretty shit but at least you can see it breaking over the bank.
Reckon it was about 2m high and travelling about 10 mph. And you could hear it breaking over the banks before you saw it and a sort of gurgling and hissing noise as it went past
After it had gone past the river continued to flow the wrong way for five minutes before i got bored and wandered off.
A bit like a tsunami i suppose.
With a 10m tide, it's one of the biggest bores in the world.
Surfing dudes notable by their absence as it was feckin' cold
