Just on BBC2, anyone see it?
Fantastic little film. Michael Caine plays the part of a retired magician who moves into an old people home and befriends the son of the family who run it.
As with a lot of good films not an emotion is left unturned. Beautiful and funny. Great cast to. |

Saw last 40 mins and was completely hooked and kicking Mrs Mick for missing the first bit.
Brilliant film, like you said, what a cast.
Life and death and that, innit? _________________ +

It is. Michael Caine gives a great line to the kid who is obsessed by death and the afterlife.
"I am trying to bring you out of this, hold hands and join the living".
I would certainly label this film a must see. |

Fantastic/poignant lines all the way through it.
Have to agree, must see.

Did you watch it SBC?
Quality again. Different take on life and death.
How graphic was the violence in this? _________________ +

no i havent had the stomach to watch eastern promises yet - but i did watch is anyone there last night. got a bit of grit in my eye at the end - old peoples homes, dementia..... eeeh it were cheery.... but there was a little uplifting ending i spose
good cast and nice to see some of those old gimmers get run out like Leslie Philips and Sylvia Syms and that bloke who played Grouty in Porridge _________________ Healing not hatred
