Sounds of the Suburbs
If it were possible to wear out a CD I would have done so
Track 3 Ever Fallen in Love with Someone - Buzzcocks
Track 4 Another Girl Another Planet - Only Ones
Track 5 Teenage Kicks - Undertones
Track 6 Echo Beach - Martha and the Muffins
not a bad track on it

My wife owns a copy of the OST to "That Summer!", a film I had never heard of, let alone seen. It came out about '78/'79, a punk cash-in I suspect.
Anyhoo, bear with me while I pop downstairs, don my germ-free suit, get in the air-lock and crank open the vinyl vault. I feel the urge to post the track listing.
Tracklisting:
A1 Ian Dury And The Blockheads Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll
A2 Mink DeVille Spanish Stroll
A3 Elvis Costello (I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea
A4 Boomtown Rats, The She's So Modern
A5 Zones (2) New Life
A6 Only Ones, The Another Girl, Another Planet
A7 Wreckless Eric Whole Wide World
A8 Patti Smith Group Because The Night
B1 Boomtown Rats, The Kicks
B2 Ramones Rockaway Beach
B3 Undertones, The Teenage Kicks
B4 Eddie And The Hot Rods Do Anything You Wanna Do
B5 Ian Dury And The Blockheads What A Waste
B6 Nick Lowe I Love The Sound Of Breaking Glass
B7 Elvis Costello Watching The Detectives
B8 Richard Hell & The Voidoids Blank Generation _________________ Idea for book: "Ventriloquism for Dummies" |

Of course, Google found it in 2 clicks.... but it's nice to hold an LP occasionally, and it's ace as you can see.
Oooo, Ray Winstone was in it!
"This mostly unknown film starring Ray Winstone was filmed mainly on location in Torquay Devon in the spring of 1978. That Summer is a cult Ray Winstone film that was shot almost entirely on location in Torquay Devon. The film follows Steve played by Ray Winstone who has just got out of bortstal, fed up with his life going no where in London, he decides to travel to Torquay to try and win the annual Torbay swimming race." _________________ Idea for book: "Ventriloquism for Dummies" |

Nostalgia Trip!
I used to have this on tape. Never saw the film.
I remember playing it all the way to the French Alps on a camping trip in 1979.
Great compilation - I've got all the tracks so I'll go home and sculpture that soundtrack out of them.
P.S - I was a massive Boomtown Rats fan! _________________ Oh go away.. You dirty man! |
